The Court of Pain is unlike any other god. Instead of an individual taking the Animus of a god as their own soul, the Court of Pain used magic to trap the animus The Wanderer within an the Godflow Engine. This allowed them to share and experiment with divine power without having to bind the animus to themselves. The court was founded by the witch Tasha, and is based in the flying city of Sigil.
