The primordial god of darkness and the abyss, Pölark is a cloaked god known to wear many faces. In some places, it is worshipped as creator of The Abyss, yet in others sailors pray to her for a safe journey across the sea. It created demons, and for a long time battled in a “Blood War” with Lathander. Now, it is a member of The Triad, consisting of itself, Lathander, and Titania.
Pölark is most commonly depicted as a shadowed form of darkness wearing a cloak, or a reflection in a mirror. As the goddess of the sea, her cloak is made out of waves and her form is presented as a shadow deep beneath the blackwater. Pölark is known as a mysterious and occasionally scornful god, who despite creating demons has no dominion over them.
*Being one of the Cloaked Gods, Pölark has many different depictions. As it is a cloaked god, its most common pronoun is “it”. However, its physical avatar of darkness can occasionally take more masculine descriptors, and whenever it is considered as the god of the sea it generally takes a more feminine form.
